This traditional Cleft pail Chestnut fence has been a winner for many decades. A nice rustic fence ideal for fencing-in the dogs, temporary boundaries or as a pleasing permanent fence.
Traditionally, the palings are bark peeled , cleft (split) with the grain for extra strength and pointed at one end. Chestnut, like oak is a hard wood and not treated.

This cleft chestnut is assembled with best galvanized 14 gauge wire, 4 strands per row. Paling spacing approx 75mm.
We can install this fence on 3"-4" full round posts with strainer posts in corners and change of direction. All posts pressure treated.
